Why Choose Tenax Cera Fluida (Natural Stone Liquid Wax)

Deepens Color and Adds Sheen The one care product built to change how stone looks. Strongest on dark slabs that have gone flat and gray.
Easy to Apply and Reverse Thin coats, buff to a sheen, and it wears away in time rather than committing the surface permanently.
₱3,500 a Bottle Level with Hydrex and ₱1,100 under Proseal, though a wax wants redoing far more often than a sealer does.
Made for Natural Stone At its best on granite, marble and travertine, lifting the color on a tired surface. Stocked in Iloilo.

What Is Tenax Cera Fluida?

A liquid wax that deepens color. Not a sealer, and no stand-in for one.

Tenax Cera Fluida is a liquid wax for natural stone, produced by Tenax in Italy. It brings out the color in a slab and leaves a soft sheen behind, which is usually what somebody means when they say a counter has gone flat.

Its method is the reverse of a sealer. Proseal and Hydrex disappear into the pores and leave nothing above them. Cera Fluida stays up top as a thin film, and that film is precisely what you are paying for.

Sitting on the surface means it also wears away. Traffic, cleaning and ordinary use will take it back over a matter of months rather than years, so think of it as a finish you renew, not protection you install once.

It shows best on dark stone that has lost some of its depth, and on honed or weathered surfaces where the color has gone chalky. Over a slab fresh from the polisher there is far less for it to do.

Which Stones Can Take Cera Fluida?

Natural stone only. Engineered quartz never.

Dark granite gains the most

Deep colors are where a wax earns its money. Absolute Black, Tan Brown and Paradiso Dark all read richer with one on them, because it restores depth that dry stone loses.

Marble and travertine, on the right surfaces

It suits marble wall cladding and feature surfaces, travertine included. Marble comes in per order for projects around Iloilo City, so plan the finish before it is laid. Seal first with whichever product fits, let that cure, then wax over the top if you want more depth.

Never on engineered quartz

Here the rule does not bend. Wax cannot soak into a quartz surface, so it piles up on top and yellows as it ages. Every design we carry, from the Sapphire range through to the Calacattas, wants no wax and is spoiled by it.

Not on floors that get walked on

Waxed flooring is slippery underfoot and wears through along the lines people walk, leaving the finish patchy. Keep it to counters, cladding and feature surfaces.

How Do You Apply Tenax Cera Fluida?

Thin coats, and seal underneath before you start.

1

Seal First, If the Stone Needs It

Wax offers no protection, so on a porous stone the sealer goes down first and is left to cure. Waxing bare stone gives you shine with nothing behind it.

2

Apply a Thin, Even Coat

Spread it sparingly with a soft cloth. Wax is easy to lay on too heavily, and a thick coat dries streaky and takes far longer to buff out than two light passes ever would.

3

Buff to a Sheen

Let it haze over, then work a clean dry cloth across it until the surface is even and the finish consistent. Stop while the cloth still glides rather than grinding away at one patch.

Cera Fluida is one of the stone care products we keep on the shelf in Iloilo City, alongside the sealers that belong underneath it. Ask at the counter in Iloilo.

Does Cera Fluida Change How the Stone Looks?

Yes. That is the whole reason it exists.

Yes. Of everything on our care shelf this is the one product meant to alter appearance. It deepens color and lays down a soft sheen, and if that is not what you are after then a sealer is the bottle you want.

Dark and porous stone shows the biggest change; a bright polished slab that already throws back the light shows the least. On a black granite gone slightly gray and lifeless, nobody misses the difference.

Try it on an offcut or a corner nobody sees before committing. Waxed and unwaxed stone sit side by side very obviously, so make sure you like the result first.

Reversible only in the sense that it wears away, and it does not wear away evenly if you change your mind midway. Do a whole surface or leave it alone.

Does Waxing Replace Sealing?

No. Mistaking it for protection is the usual error.

No. A wax film is thin, rides on the surface and wears off with ordinary use. It will not hold cooking oil out of a porous granite, and it will not stop spilled red wine reaching the stone.

The two solve unrelated problems. Proseal coats the pores from within and stays put. Cera Fluida sits above them and looks good. One protects, the other flatters.

They are not rival choices, and on a stone that needs sealing you want both, in that sequence. Seal, cure, then wax if you want the extra depth.

Etching is beyond a wax as well. Acid slices through the film and dulls the marble or travertine underneath exactly as it would on bare stone.

Cera Fluida vs Our Other Stone Care Products

Four bottles, four separate jobs.

Cera Fluida is the finish

₱3,500, for deepening color and adding sheen on natural stone. Cosmetic rather than protective, and gone again in months rather than years.

Proseal is countertop protection

Tenax Proseal at ₱4,600 repels oil and water from inside the pores. This is what a kitchen counter genuinely needs, and it goes down before any wax.

Hydrex is protection for walls and floors

Tenax Hydrex at ₱3,500 repels water, for cladding, flooring and outdoor stone where damp rather than oil is the threat. Same money as a bottle of wax, different job entirely.

Granite polish is the other way to add shine

Stone Care Granite & Stone Polish at ₱1,700 brightens a polished surface as part of ordinary cleaning. Lighter and cheaper than waxing, and better suited to upkeep than to reviving tired stone.

How Often Should You Reapply?

When the depth fades, which is months rather than years.

1

Judge It by Eye

Wax has no equivalent of the water test. Once the color looks flat again and the sheen has gone patchy, it is due. On a counter in daily use that tends to be every few months.

2

Clean Thoroughly First

Waxing over a dirty surface seals whatever is sitting there under the new coat. Wash with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and let it dry right through before you start again.

3

Do Not Let It Build Up

Coat piled on coat without cleaning between leaves a thick, uneven, yellowing film. Where a surface has clouded from repeated waxing, the Iloilo branch can advise on taking it back to bare stone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Cera Fluida a sealer?

No. It is a wax that rides on the surface to deepen color and add sheen. Sealers go down into the pores and stay there. If protection rather than appearance is the aim, you want Proseal or Hydrex.

Can I use it on engineered quartz?

No, and the rule does not bend. Quartz resists staining, so wax has nowhere to go, piles up on the surface and yellows with age. A pH-balanced cleaner is all quartz ever asks for.

Do I need to seal before waxing?

On any stone that needs sealing, yes. Seal, let it cure, then wax if you want the extra depth. Wax over bare stone gives you shine with nothing protecting what is underneath.

Will it stop my marble from etching?

No. Acid slices through a wax film and dulls the stone below. Nothing you apply prevents etching on marble, travertine or onyx. Keeping citrus and vinegar off the surface is the only protection there is.

How long does it last?

Months rather than years, and less again on a surface in daily use. It goes with cleaning and traffic, which is how a wax behaves rather than a sign of a poor product.

Can I use it on a stone floor?

We would advise against it. Waxed stone is slippery underfoot and wears through along walking lines, leaving a patchy finish that has to be stripped and redone. Keep it to counters, cladding and features.

What happens if I put on too much?

It dries streaky and cloudy, and heavy coats repeated build into a yellowing film. Thin coats buffed properly are the answer. If a surface has already clouded, ask about stripping it back.
