What Is Quartz Clean & Shine?

A cleaner built around resin rather than around stone.

Stone Care International Quartz Clean & Shine is a pH-balanced daily cleaner made specifically for engineered quartz. Grease and residue come away without anything going to work on the polymer resin that holds the slab together.

That resin is the reason a separate bottle has to exist. Roughly 93% of a quartz slab is crushed natural stone, held together by about 7% resin, and the binder is the vulnerable half. Harsh cleaners are not attacking the mineral; they are attacking the glue.

Since quartz resists staining, cleaning really is the entire maintenance routine. Nothing to seal, nothing to wax, no yearly ritual to remember. Choose the right cleaner and the list is finished.

It goes on every quartz surface we sell in Iloilo, from the Sapphire range through Moonstone and Nimbus to the Calacatta designs.

What Damages a Quartz Counter?

Four things, and three of them live under your sink.

High-pH cleaners

Oven cleaner, bleach and heavy-duty degreasers wear the resin binder down over time. Nothing happens on the first use, which is why nobody connects a year of that spray with the dull patch that eventually turns up.

Dish soap, used long-term

Soap does quartz no harm, but the film it leaves builds up and takes the shine off. It is the usual explanation for a quartz counter that has stopped looking new, and a proper cleaner undoes all of it.

Abrasives

Scouring pads, steel wool and powder cleansers scuff a polished surface for good. A plastic scraper lifts whatever has dried on without leaving a mark behind.

Wax and polish meant for stone

Wax cannot get into a quartz surface, so it stacks up on top and yellows. Keep Cera Fluida and any granite polish off quartz, however well they perform on natural stone.

How Do You Clean a Quartz Counter?

Three habits, and the counter looks after itself.

1

Clean as You Go

Spills stay up on the surface rather than sinking in, so a soft cloth deals with almost everything. There is no race against staining here, only against how the counter looks between wipes.

2

Spray and Wipe Daily

A light spray and a microfiber cloth is the whole routine. Take a long run in sections so the cleaner never dries before the cloth arrives, which is what puts streaks on a dark slab.

3

Use a Plastic Scraper for Dried Residue

Candle wax, dried food and adhesive all come away with a plastic scraper and a little cleaner. Pick up the scraper rather than a scouring pad, since the pad is what does permanent harm.

This is one of the stone care products we keep on the shelf in Iloilo City, so nobody has to guess between a dozen supermarket sprays that never say what they are for. Ask at the counter in Iloilo.

Can You Use a Granite Cleaner on Quartz?

No. The two are solving different problems.

No. Granite cleaners are put together for a porous mineral surface, and plenty of them carry a polish or a light wax meant to enrich natural stone. On quartz that residue has nowhere to travel and gathers on the surface.

It runs the other way too. This bottle will do granite no harm, but it is not doing what a granite product does, and a sealed natural stone gets far less out of it than out of the dedicated one.

The difference is worth knowing because both bottles sit side by side at ₱1,700 and look near enough identical. Check which one is in your hand.

Where a kitchen has both materials, which happens often enough when the island is quartz and the perimeter granite, buy both. That is the easy way to avoid years of the wrong bottle on the wrong surface, and both sit on the shelf at the Iloilo yard.

Does Quartz Ever Need Sealing?

No. Not once, not ever.

No. Sealing works by filling the pore structure of a quarried stone so that liquid cannot travel through it. Engineered quartz is manufactured, so a sealer has nothing to sink into and just dries on top as a film.

This one comes up constantly, and it is usually a contractor who has told the customer that every stone counter needs sealing. True of most natural stone; untrue of every quartz we sell.

Anyone selling you sealer for a quartz counter without first asking what the counter is made of has not checked. If you are unsure what you have, the water test settles it: a few drops left out of sight for 15 minutes, and quartz will not go darker underneath.

Wax and polish fall under the same heading. A cleaner is what quartz wants, and that is the complete list.

Quartz Clean & Shine vs Our Other Cleaners

Three bottles, and the surface makes the decision.

Quartz Clean & Shine is for engineered quartz

₱1,700, pH-balanced and gentle on the resin binder. The only maintenance a quartz counter ever asks for.

Granite & Stone Polish is for natural stone

Stone Care Granite & Stone Polish at ₱1,700 cleans and brightens polished natural stone. Same brand, same money, different surface. Do not swap them over.

Weiman adds disinfectant

Weiman Disinfectant Granite & Stone Clean & Shine at ₱1,500 is a granite cleaner that disinfects too, which suits a kitchen where raw food is prepared on the counter.

The sealers are a separate question entirely

Proseal and Hydrex protect porous natural stone. No quartz owner needs either, and that is the material practical advantage.

What This Cleaner Will Not Fix

Three kinds of damage that no bottle reverses.

1

Heat Scorch

A pan lifted straight off the burner burns the resin, and that mark will not clean or polish out. Heat is the genuine weak point of quartz, which is why a trivet is not optional.

2

UV Yellowing

Long spells of direct sun shift quartz permanently towards yellow, and that is why we keep it indoors. Fit blinds where a counter catches the strong afternoon light.

3

Scouring Scratches

Abrasive pads take the polish off, and no cleaner puts it back. Prevention is the whole remedy, so the scouring pad stays away from the counter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a granite cleaner on my quartz counter?

No. Granite cleaners are made for a porous surface, and many carry a polish or wax that has nowhere to go on quartz and gathers as residue. Use a quartz-specific cleaner instead.

Why can I not just use dish soap?

Soap leaves a film. It does quartz no damage, but that film builds up over months and takes the shine off. It is the usual reason a quartz counter stops looking new, and a proper cleaner reverses it.

Does quartz need sealing?

Never. Quartz is manufactured, so a sealer has nothing to sink into and dries on top as a film. Cleaning is the whole of the maintenance routine.

Can I use bleach on a quartz counter?

No. Bleach, oven cleaner and other high-pH products wear the resin binder down over time. The damage arrives slowly, so the link between the spray and the dull patch is easy to miss.

How do I remove something dried on?

Soften it, then lift it with a plastic scraper. Candle wax, dried food and adhesive all come away that way. Never reach for a scouring pad, which scratches the polish for good.

Will it remove a heat mark?

No. Scorching burns the resin itself, and neither cleaner nor polish reverses that. Trivets are the only protection, and heat damage falls outside any workmanship warranty.

Can I use it on granite or marble?

It will do them no harm, but it is not doing the job a natural stone product does. With both materials in one kitchen, buy both bottles rather than compromising on one.
