Made for Daily Use Reaching for it instead of soap and water is what keeps build-up from forming, so the counter never goes dull.
Built for Natural Stone Made up for granite, marble and travertine, lifting the shine without touching the finish underneath. Stocked in Iloilo.

What Is Granite & Stone Polish?

A cleaner that brings the shine back with it.

Stone Care International Granite & Stone Polish is a pH-neutral cleaner and polish for natural stone. Grease and residue come away as they would with any stone cleaner, and the polished surface is left brighter than the cloth found it.

It is that second job that sets it apart from a plain cleaner. Polished granite almost never dulls because the stone has changed; it dulls because soap film, hard water residue and cooking grease have piled up on top of the polish.

What this bottle does is clear that layer away so the reflection underneath comes through again. Nothing about it is abrasive and it does not repolish anything, so what you get back is the finish that was there all along.

Use it on granite, marble and travertine. Engineered quartz takes Quartz Clean & Shine, the same brand made up for a resin surface.

Why Has My Granite Lost Its Shine?

Four causes, and only one of them is the stone.

Soap film, far and away the most common

Washing-up liquid on a stone counter leaves a residue that gathers invisibly over months. The stone below it is untouched; what you are looking at is a layer of dried soap, and clearing it is what a polish is for.

Hard water deposits

Mineral deposits around a sink and tap leave a cloudy bloom on the stone. Plenty of households deal with it, and it is easily mistaken for damage to the polish itself.

Cooking grease

An airborne film drifts across a whole kitchen rather than settling on the counter alone. Where the dullness covers one broad area instead of appearing in patches, grease is usually the answer.

Genuine wear, which this will not fix

Scouring pads, abrasive powders and acid etching damage the surface physically. Neither cleaner nor polish reverses that, and repolishing and restoration are not services Stone Depot offers. Prevention is the only remedy there is.

How Do You Use Granite & Stone Polish?

Three steps, and it is the first one people skip.

1

Clear the Build-Up First

Where a counter carries months of soap film, the opening pass is really doing cleaning work rather than polishing. Count on going over a neglected surface twice before the shine shows up.

2

Work in Sections

Spray an area you can manage and wipe it before it dries. Along a long run, or under strong light, anything left to dry on the surface streaks, and streaks on dark granite are impossible to miss.

3

Buff With a Dry Cloth

Follow up with clean dry microfiber to lift the reflection evenly. That last pass is the difference between a counter that is clean and a counter that looks new.

This is one of the stone care products we keep on the shelf in Iloilo City, alongside the sealers that handle the protecting. Ask at the counter in Iloilo.

Does Polishing Replace Sealing?

No. This is the misunderstanding that costs money.

No. A polish works on the surface and makes the stone look its best. A sealer works down in the pores and keeps oil and wine from soaking through. A counter can look immaculate and have nothing protecting it at all.

They are not rival purchases, and the polish is not the important one. Where the budget has to choose, Proseal at ₱4,600 protects the stone and this bottle at ₱1,700 makes it shine.

Check the seal with the water test rather than by eye. Leave a few drops on a hidden spot for 15 minutes, and if the stone has gone darker underneath it wants sealing however good the polish looks.

Not every stone needs a sealer in the first place. Absolute Black, Black Galaxy, Tan Brown and Marigold are tight enough to skip it, and color is no guide to which.

Can You Use It on Engineered Quartz?

No. There is a reason the brand makes a second bottle.

No. This one is put together for a porous mineral surface. Quartz resists staining and is bound with polymer resin, so a stone polish leaves residue sitting on top instead of achieving anything.

Stone Care International makes Quartz Clean & Shine at the same ₱1,700 for exactly that material. Both bottles look alike on a shelf, so check which one you have picked up.

Where a kitchen runs both materials, which happens often when the island is quartz and the perimeter granite, take both, and the Iloilo yard stocks the pair. It beats trying to remember which surface wants which bottle.

Wax deserves the same caution. Cera Fluida does beautiful things to natural stone and gathers and yellows on quartz.

Granite Polish vs Our Other Cleaners

Three bottles, two of them for natural stone.

Granite & Stone Polish restores shine

₱1,700, pH-neutral, cleaning polished natural stone and bringing the reflection back with it. The pick when a counter looks dull rather than dirty.

Weiman adds disinfectant

Weiman Disinfectant Granite & Stone Clean & Shine at ₱1,500 cleans natural stone and disinfects on the way past. The pick for a kitchen where raw meat and fish meet the counter.

Quartz Clean & Shine is for the other material

Quartz Clean & Shine at ₱1,700 is the same brand made up for resin-bound surfaces. Never swap the two over.

Cera Fluida goes further than a polish

Tenax Cera Fluida at ₱3,500 is a wax that deepens color rather than simply cleaning. Reach for it where a dark stone has gone flat and the polish alone has not answered.

How Often Should You Use It?

As often as you clean, which is rather the point.

1

Use It as Your Daily Cleaner

Treat it as routine rather than as an occasional treatment. Reaching for it instead of soap and water is what keeps film from forming at all, so the counter never gets its chance to go dull.

2

Expect Two Passes on a Neglected Counter

Months of build-up will not lift in a single wipe. Clear the film, then polish, and judge what you have after the second pass rather than the first.

3

Stop If Nothing Improves

Where two thorough passes change nothing, the dullness is wear or etching rather than residue, and no quantity of polish will help. Ask the Iloilo branch before buying another bottle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why has my granite counter gone dull?

Almost always build-up rather than damage. Soap film from washing-up liquid, hard water deposits around the sink, or airborne cooking grease. The stone itself is nearly always fine, and clearing the layer brings the shine back.

What is the difference between this and Weiman?

Both clean natural stone. This one at ₱1,700 concentrates on restoring shine to a dulled polished surface. Weiman at ₱1,500 disinfects as it cleans, which suits a counter where raw food is prepared.

Does polishing seal the stone?

No. A polish works on the surface; a sealer works inside the pores. A counter can look immaculate and still drink oil. Use the water test to check the seal instead of judging by how the stone looks.

Can I use it on engineered quartz?

No. Quartz resists staining and is resin-bound, so a stone polish leaves residue on the surface. Stone Care International makes Quartz Clean & Shine at the same price for that material.

Can I use it on marble and travertine?

Yes. It is pH-neutral, which is what those stones want. Keep anything acidic away from marble, travertine and onyx, since acid etches calcium carbonate no matter how well the surface is sealed.

Will it remove an etch mark?

No. Etching is physical damage where acid has eaten into the polish, not residue sitting on top. Light etches on marble can be buffed with polishing powder, which is a different product doing a different job.

Will it remove a stain?

No. A stain has gone down into the stone, so it wants a poultice to draw it back out rather than a surface cleaner. Ask the Iloilo counter which poultice suits the stain and the stone.
